Easter outfits!
I was starting to stress a bit about Easter outfits… my matching thing.
For some reason I had a vision of grey and white polkadots… have no clue where that came from, but oh well. I searched a bit on the net to no avail, then thought it would be fun to make something. I even requested an easy lil’ girl skirt pattern from my friend Julie, she has all girls, and she delivered with this lil’ ditty. I was just about to head out with the troops to search for some fabric when I thought I would check Old Navy’s online store.
Um, yeah.
Found it all. For $50!!
Don’t you think Old Navy should have a ‘family outfit coordinating search’?? I would use it everyday every holiday.
Me and Mrs. Duggar.

A series of thoughts…
…in no particular order.
Yesterday I got to meet one of my local Eli’s Lids customers – aka Lid Lover. Once again verifying how awesome my customers actually are. I truly think everyone who buys a Lid is my friend.
Another Lid Lover gave me a few tips about these awesome pattern books. Check out Sew Liberated & Oliver & S. Again confirming people who love Lids are RAD!!
Easter is just about here and you know I love to match. We were going to go with peach and green because of a dress I got Cora Jane at Sam’s Club but now I have a vision of grey polkadots… (maybe with pink accents?) Hoping I won’t have to sew everything to make it happen.
I had an original idea to make a birthday bunting with girl colors on one side and boy colors on the other side. I was telling my friends (Kyla & Jamie) at a craft night last night and they’ve seen it done before. Just goes to show, there is nothing new under the sun!
The children moved the rug diagonally while playing the other day and I really like it. I’m totally feng shui.
I like cake plates sitting on the table. I like them best with cake inside.
I’m on a anti high fructose corn syrup kick. It’s hard to find jam without it.
I’m really thankful for Hot Hubby. I told him (nicely) at the beginning of the week that I would appreciate help cleaning up after dinner. And he has helped every night since. But I’m most especially thankful he puts up with my saving-of-old-container-fetish because it’s filling up a cupboard and I know he hates it.
Anyone with stainless steel pans know how to get off the burned gunk? My mom says to use comet but it seems so harsh. A bit has been coming off into the morning eggs and when the children asked what it was I told them pepper. Subsequently I have been adding real pepper to our eggs so I won’t be lying to them.
This kid is awesome.
He can now do the sign for “more.”
I’m just falling
and
in love with him every second!
Every morning I listen to this song…
… you should too. Every word speaks to me (see lyrics here) and it is such a great reminder that we are not alone. While you’re at it, please tell me how they shoot that video. Crazy how their singing is normal speed and they are all moving super fast.
Happy Friday! I’ll be away this weekend on a women’s retreat but I’m going to try to post an AWESOME announcement tomorrow!!! I promise you won’t want to miss it!!!
If you’re looking for me…
I’m making a vintage apron with one of my grandmom’s patterns from the 50’s.
Thinking about working out to some of my new videos bought while nursing and ebay collide.

Sewing saves lives
We have a little lady at home.
She’s pretty cool…
She falls asleep anywhere, and she dances to the rhythm of her own lil’ drummer…
She’s a girly girl and we treat her like… well… a princess. One with strict rules and boundaries… of course… lol!
She doesn’t know about slavery, hunger, strife or poverty. (We live in Orange County for goodness sake!) Unfortunately for little girls around the world bondage is a reality.
I was introduced to International Princess Project years ago while on staff at a local church. The organization is amazing and they are ACTUALLY making a difference in the lives of women in India though sewing. (Because sewing rules and you should totally start.)
Women who are rescued from brothels need some sort of occupation… Enter International PrincessTM Project. The women are trained to make some pretty kick a&$ stuff:
International PrincessTM Project has their 3rd annual Gala fundraiser coming up on September 25th at the Shorebreak Hotel in Huntington Beach. (Get tickets here.)
Don’t feel like changing out of your PJs? Buy some Punjammies at the International Princess Project shop!!!
Don’t need PJs? Just donate some cash-o-la here.

Impromptu Picnic…
We had a picnic last night and it really helped to spice up our leftover dinner of pizza and spaghetti. I did roast some fresh yummy veggies. We ate and chatted in the almost Autumn air while Eli played basketball.
I wish I could say that the picnic was just my creative idea, but in actuality our dining room was an explosion of all my sewing!!!
I’m working on new shirts for Eli’s Lids.
I love sewing
