Bug Invasion & The Pumpkin Factory
One of the kazillion reasons we love living in Orange County is all the fun places to go! Last week we got the chance to check out The Discovery Science Center’s (aka The Cube) Bug Invasion and The Pumpkin Factory. They have paired up to offer an awesome Trick or Treat Candy Quest.
I was a little flustered after arrival because someone was having an emotional day, someone was starving for a bottle and someone wanted to run around the Cube to check out all the awesome exhibits.
(I’ll let you guess which someone is which)
I was basically feeling like the worst mom in the world because Cora Jane had an accident (thankfully #1) and I didn’t have a change of clothes, Cy was screaming unless I stood up in one place swaying and Eli had probably been kidnapped because he had been roaming The Cube alone for at least half an hour. Then Dr Sue said I made mothering my 3 small kiddos look so easy. I wanted to kiss her! Anyway, she’s my new BFF!
Eli said the Bug Invasion Exhibit was “GREAT!” It actually sounds more like “GWATE!” It’s super cute!

Hot Hubby met us at The Cube after he got off work and we took the short walk (like 3 minutes) over to The Pumpkin Factory.
The Pumpkin Factory has all sorts of rides, a petting zoo, and of course, loads of pumpkins!! GOOD PRICES TOO! Those big giant jumbo pumpkins for only $20. It’s a better deal than a grocery store and you are supporting a local business!!
As the sun started setting it was the perfect weather for a Lid… even the pumpkins were chilly!
Because the folks at The Cube and the the folks at The Pumpkin Factory are so awesome they are letting me give away…

Awesome giveaway Kara-Noel!! When it comes to pumpkin carving we always get those books with the templates and try each year for the most challenging ones. Makes for a fun filled day carving pumpkins and then we get to roast the pumpkin seeds and eat ‘em..yum!!
WE put a cross on our pumpkins and add bible verser on them to let people now we live by our Godly nature! and we follow you on FB!!
Very cool giveaway! My favorite idea for carving a pumpkin is making silhouette of each kid and carving their pumpkin with their profile, then adding something funky to it, like a witch hat, crazy nose, etc.
I loved seeing a pumpkin that was blinged out. It was just beautiful with a cool design of jems!

I don’t have any really cool pumpkin carving ideas except doing a “conjoined twin” between too pumpkins or having your pumpkin “sick” having its guts coming out one end or the other! eeeekkk!
I paint pregnant bellies for Halloween. I did my sisters with a jack-o-lantern. Or you can do a fish bowl, or a bun in an oven, or if you are really good with paint a baby peeking out through a zipper or port-hole. lol
Pumpkin Carving idea… use the parts you cut out, and put them on the outside of the pumpkin for ears or nose. Way to reuse all parts of your pumpkin and create something unique!

I have 3 lil ones that are still too young for carvng so we paint our pumpkins….the kids love this idea and we even get to pick out some funny “lids” and crowns ; )

This sounds like so much fun! My best pumpkin carving idea is: I always carve a pumpkin with the theme of what my kiddos are dressed up for that Halloween! Makes looking back on pics a lot of fun!
